WE HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH STAFF AT ALICE BROWN ELEMENTARY TO ORGANIZE AN ART COMPETITION!

For the 2020 spring/summer village street banners (running down 200 Street from 42 Ave to 40 Ave), the Brookswood Village Merchants’ Association have been working with staff at Alice Brown Elementary to organise an art competition open to every student at the school (huge thanks to Mr Carlyle and Mrs Coulter for making this happen).

We have collected artwork from every student who wanted to take part and have selected the best ten for each grade. We will now open it up to the community to decide which of these will be turned into the banners!

You can view all the shortlisted designs here and you can vote for your favourite in each grade.

Voting will close at the weekend.

We have 48 banners and, thanks to the support of local business owner Bryce Choquer of Choquer Creative who will be printing the banners for us, we are able to incorporate 48 individual winning designs – 24 sunflowers and 24 frogs!

The new banners will be installed during Spring Break and will be on display until September. We are very excited to see the final product and even more excited to see how proud the students will be to have their artwork on show for their community.

Thank you to all staff and students who have contributed to this project, we hope it is something that we can do again next year!
