LEARNING FROM COVID – A COMMUNITY ART PROJECT

Today is the official start of our September community art project focusing on the positives Brookswood residents have experienced over

the recent months of the Covid-19 pandemic – what have you learned from Covid?

All members of the community, any age, are welcomed to download the template and create a piece of art to be displayed in one of our participating business members. Businesses will display the art in their stores and will select a winner at the end of the month.

One winner from each location will receive a prize from that business to the value of $50.

The participating business locations are:

  • Brookswood Optometry
  • Buy-Low Foods
  • Cravings
  • Festina Lente Estate Winery
  • Langley Rivermen
  • McDonalds
  • RBC

Below are the guidelines/rules:

  • Residents choose the business they would like to display their art
  • Only positive art is to be displayed
  • Businesses have the right to refuse to display art if they feel it is inappropriate in any way
  • Businesses are to record the name and email/phone number of participants
  • Businesses select one winner and share their contact details with BVMA to administer the prize – no other contact information it to be shared
  • All contact information collected will not to be used for any other purpose, will not be added to any mailing lists or shared with third parties and will be destroyed at the end of the event
  • Participants can opt out of the prize element of the event if they would prefer to not provide their contact information
  • BVMA will purchase a prize to the value of $50 from each participating business
  • The event is open to all ages
  • If you would prefer to email your art to us, we are happy to print it and take it to your chosen business – please send your finished piece to hello@brookswoodvillage.com
  • Businesses can rotate their display if they receive more art than they have space for

This is the first in a series of events designed to bring our community together in a safe way. These events are made possible through Community Grant funding from the Township of Langley and the generous donations received from the Brookswood community at our 2019 events – thank you!

We look forward to seeing your work!
